Well, I finally finished the last 5 stormies from this squad last month so I thought I'd better post them. Here they are, snapped during the 'whole army' pose: Please note three things:
The moustache on the sergeant;
The guy who looks a tiny bit like Saddam Hussein, and
The fact that the first five painted were completed pre-Devlan Mud, and it shows.
I've said this before (and unashamedly I will probably say it again); but it is just so refreshing to see some non-white skin-tone models out there. Keep it up!
Great looking unit! The mustaches add some character, something sorely needed in the 1billion strong IG army.
And to be honest, I didn't even notice the meltas were converted! I had to look twice to see what you did. For a simple nozzle swap and bit placement, I think they're great looking!
The mustache is great, but I love the contrast the red gives the models. I'm sure they stand out nicely among the rank and file troops.
ReplyDeleteRon, FTW
That moustache is incredible. There aren't enough berets in 40K. Great stuff!
ReplyDeletetotally agree with the above comments - love the moustache and the berets! Hope you are well Drax!

Thanks so much for the comments, guys, and yes - pretty much every squad has an element of whatever passes for ethnic diversity on Cadia.
ReplyDeleteIt's mostly for two reasons: (1) I hate painting 'white' skin, and (2) whyever shouldn't I?!
