Born at home in cottage, 9th November 2012, 8lbs, 6oz: a second baby daughter!
Both mum and new arrival are very, very well (not least after a good night's sleep!) and Drax is a very, very proud daddy.
Phew!
- Chris.
PS: No name yet, so although Mrs Drax will almost certainly veto any blog suggestions...have at it!
Draxos, Destroyer of Worlds! Nah seriously, hearty congratulations to you and Mrs Drax on the new arrival!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you & Mrs Drax on such wonderful news; we currently have our first on order from the Gene labs of Forge Bump (Mrs Bix will kill me if she reads that!)
ReplyDeleteSo any training and survival tips welcome. :)
Congrats to you, Mrs Drax and your new recruit :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDeleteAnd in a few months you'll have to keep your veterans in a safe plac.
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWell done! Keep up the good work ;)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the whole Drax clan!
ReplyDeleteAw, congratulations to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteChris, so happy for you and the family. Here's hoping for good health and fortune for all of you :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! wishing you all the best with the new arrival!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and best wishes to you and Mrs Drax. Slightly surprised that the staff of an accomplished general/admiral had no names prepared in advance.
ReplyDeleteKool. like the highlights...
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you look very happy, mate, well done.
Congratulations. My two daughters are now in their 20s. Time flies.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone!
ReplyDeleteSelected specific responses...:
>Scipio: I love 'Draxos'- sounds like a Greek disinfectant!
>Bix: Only two tips - (1) Never buy anything because a 'baby goods' store suggests it (rely on middle-aged colleagues' advice instead) and (2) never pass up a chance to play because you're 'too busy'.
Cylde: As it happens, Number 1 Daughter is great: she knows she's never to touch 'Daddy's Toys' and doesn't.
Artificer: I think that's what they call 'Military Intelligence', right?
Congrats to the Drax family on the safe delivery of your daughter :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're building your own Sisters of Battle order so could I suggest Celestine as a name? ;)
Well done Drax - congrats to you and the family.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! Hope you enjoyed your last night of sleep :) for the next few months. Kids are great and I love mine almost more than my IG.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday little drax!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Drax! May she paint the galaxy with the Emperor's Light!
ReplyDeleteI will send my heardfull congratulations and wish you and your wife, luck, power and patience. This is a great job !
ReplyDeleteVery massive congratulations to all 4 of you. Take some time and enjoy the whole thing, you very definitely all deserve it.

ReplyDeleteCol Corbane
okay, I could have sworn I left a comment of congratulations on the day you posted this.... >_<
ReplyDeleteEither way. Congrats on the new wee girly. I hear "Dai" is a fine name for a girl. (In Vietnam or some such. :P)
Thanks, everyone - very kind commemts, and Mrs Drax says thanks too.
ReplyDeleteShe's well, as is MiniDrax, whom The Emperor - in his divine wisdom - has decreed shall be given the title 'Poppy'.
Sorry, rather late to the party!
ReplyDeleteCongrats though! I'll shall endevour to send a text at a more appropriate hour as I suspect you may not be blogging a bit for a while! ;)
Indeed, congratulations are in order! We nearly had a home birth here with my son, but had to rush to the hospital at the last minute. Glad to see things worked out well for y'all!
ReplyDeleteSuggestion on your next conversion project - a Leman Russ Demolisher stroller (or pram, as my wife suggests it's called over there - I profess ignorance.)
Cheers, Gravis! And yes, hobby time is tricky at the moment. Mind you, if ever you're round Plymouth or the South Hams we'd be delighted if you'd like to pop round for a cuppa!
ReplyDeleteEvan: Thank you! we were delighted that it all went so well, and very very grateful to the two marvellous community midwives. And the fact that they just managed to prevent the dog running off with the placenta!
And yes, "pram" (or the collapsable "pushchair") are used over here, but then again (a) my wife's from Chicago anyway, and (b) we don't use either anyway, as our olde-worlde village is too muddy and hilly for wheels! Cheers.
