347 "MEDIC!" ...(or Why I Love the NHS)

Daughter No.2 was taken poorly over Christmas (Christmas Day itself no less!) with bronchiolitis, and the poor wee mite needed to go into hospital for a couple of days.

[Here there was to be an utterly heart-wrenching pic of her with oxygen and feeding tubes...but for some reason Blogger won't let me upload images at the moment. Hmm...]

Thank the Emperor she's far, far better now.

Thank you, wonderful staff of QA Hospital, Portsmouth, and your wonderful Paediatrics Ward.

Another one survives to fight another day in the Emperor's light...

- Drax.

  1. good to know that she is better, no child should get sick for special days like xmas.

  2. Blimey. Well important thing is she's a lot better now, glad to hear that bit. Hats off to our doctors and nurses, regardless of how much politicians use them as ammunition for their garrulous, belligerent arguments.

  3. Pobrecita. :(

Glad to hear the wee nurgling is out of the gloomy parts. A rare story of a happy NHS experience indeed.

  4. Glad to here she is better. I know exactly how you feel. THe wife and I just spent the first week of the New Year with our youngest in the Children's Hospital thanks to a massive infection. The staff was the best.

  5. Glad to hear she's doing better!

  6. Glad to hear she's doing well now Drax. And to echo Scipio and Raghnall, hats off to the NHS medical staff, from having been on both sides of the fence I can say that the postive experiences far outweigh the negatives, and the staff I've worked with are absolutely dedicated to what they do.

  7. Thanks, gang.

My wife saw me checking comments just now and asked me to pass on her thanks too.

    - Chris

  8. Good to hear things turned out well. Here's to hoping for a speedy recovery.

  9. goof to hear she's doing well, unfortunately my local hospital (the first ever NHS hospital!) is closing soon :(

  10. Glad to know she is better and got good service from my local hospital! Lord Halfpenny and wife worked there for ages in x-ray stuff.

    Hope to battle soon mate.

  11. Sorry to hear the sickness report & extra sorry for the delay in well wishes. Hope she's well on the mend now.

Despite the burning of worlds, fleets torn asunder in the cold void and armies slaughtered on outdated orders. The Emperor does...very occasionally, actually protect. ;)

  12. Thanks again!

She's a very sweet kid - we're very lucky. And we are - and will remai - very grateful.

    >Ben: that's a bitter blow, mate;

    >Siph: I'm hoping to get back to the club within the month. I;ll need to completely learn 6th ed over again, mind...

  13. Hmmm...

Apparently I should type with more than one finger...

Thanks for taking the time to comment!
