085 Something for Marine and Guard Players Alike

I worked out how to use my scanner, so here are two things I've wanted to share for a long time. The first is from UK WD166 and is about the biology of Space Marines (two hearts one wound, anyone?) - the second is from UK WD105 and shows 6 Mk1 landraiders notable for two things: (a) the glorious Imperial Guard could use them back then, and (b) their vehicles are not camouflaged...unlike those cowardly Marines!
- Drax.

  1. Thats awesome, I really like how they have the Red Scorpion Land Raider in camo, especially with the more recent fluff having them being anti-camo to the extent that their scouts are not supposed to infiltrate.

Great "blast from the past"!! :)

  2. I get a kick out of looking at the "old stuff."

It's neat to see what they did for background way back when.

  3. Wow i'd forgotten that they did that. Cheers for the trip down memory lane. Now I'm sure I've seen super heavy IG tanks in Ultramarine livery but just can't remember where. Either that or my memory is playing tricks on me!

  4. marines can afford the paint... no point wasting paint on a vehicle thats just gonna be thrown into the guard meat grinder.... then ... it was realised... stop giving them paint?... stop giving them land raiders!! :)

  5. I'd love to see more marine armies in camo on the battlefield!

Some chapters are probably too proud in their own colours to overpaint them, but I'd wager others would be happy to wage a campaign in camo.

  6. Wow thanks for sharing this buddy!

  7. Re: Red Scorpions, I remember reading some ancient fluff (don't know if it was pre- or post- issue #166, but it said something to the effect that they refused to wear camouflage because of the pride their had in their colors, and that they considered other chapters that used camo cowardly. So this isn't exactly new for the Red Scorpions.

(The Red Scorpions called out another another chapter specifically for using "cowardly" camouflage--I forget which chapter it was, but I think it was one of the big four. For some reason I want to say it was the Space Wolves...

  8. Have the exact same LR page. Definitely love the old school stuff.

Thanks for taking the time to comment!
