My wife has the patience of a saint when it comes to putting up with my hobby - even to the point whereby she doesn't object to the thousands of little bits of transfer backing paper that litter the floor around my desk like so much pale blue confetti.
But she did object when, the other day, Cadfael came downstairs in the morning bearing an Imperial Guard squad marking...on his nose.
The worst of it was that because his nose is so wet it had actually activated the transfer!
I love my corgi.

[Who needs to teach his dog that the Cadian 24th wear '24' on their shoulder pads - not '50'.]
I am always getting in trouble for leaving little plastic bits on the kitchen table and the kitchen floor since that is where I work. Basement is to cold and dark in the winter especially late at night which is the only time I get to work on it.
ReplyDeletelol, my dog might run rampage through our battles if we're playing on the floor (usually becuase let's face it sometimes I'm just to lazy to clear the table) but a transfer on his/her nose! Yes dogs + wargaming doesn't really end happily
ReplyDeleteThat is excellent. I'm glad to hear he's still running around making trouble!
ReplyDeleteMy fiancee just leaves me to it. As long as there is enough space on the desk for her to use her laptop for work she doesnt care how much mess I make (thank god :) ).
ReplyDelete- Cadian 127th
Well duh, he's from the Cadian 50th.
ReplyDeleteYour dog's name is Cadfael? That is win! :D
ReplyDeleteBore Dah Cadfael! I'm lucky with my other half, she actually quite enjoys the hobby. She'll even have battles - oh I'm sooo lucky! In return I'm building her a Tau army (she gets colour control, troop purchase overview and selects the colour scheme) and building her mother a Tyranid Army - we'll have no jokes about Mother in laws and Hive Tyrants please!
ReplyDeleteI am more impressed both your other half and mother in law would want to play Warhammer.
ReplyDeleteAlso does this now mean Cadfael has been conscipted into Drax Guard....counts as a monsterous creature :)
"Dogs of War," that made me laugh. I had to show this post to my wife as well.
ReplyDeleteVery cute. Perhaps Cad is trying to start his own IG army, the 50th?
ReplyDeleteAnimals can be quite a challenge when playing games. A bunch of us used to play at a friends house in high school many (many) years ago. He had two cats that would attack the dice as soon as you through them. Made quite a mess most games but was entertaining enough to let it go on.
Wow - thanks for the great comments, all!
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to imagine my mother-in-law playing 40K... that's just beyond the realms of possibility.
And as for the dog? Well, he's something of a tank, in that he'll plough through things rather than go around them, but he's never yet destroyed anything - unlike my dad's dog, Kitty, who chewed the eldest of my Leman Russes when she was still a pup. Wonder what the SW primarch would make of that irony?!

Hmm. How's the new bin going?
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking: new bin is brilliant! Corgi hasn't managed to tank it over or eat its contents once!
ReplyDeleteNB: for US readers, 'bin' = garbage can.
