Hullo!
Two things for today: some old scenery and my advisors-in-progress.
Old scenery first: I went back to my childhood home, and whilst there I picked up a piece of scenery that my mate Steve knocked together when we were about 14. It's pretty impressive and I reckon I could use it, though I'll just need to touch it up a little.
It wasn't until I looked at the tank to photograph it today that I realised there's an arm sticking out of the tank!
Secondly - since some of you have been asking - on another (less useful) piece of scenery that Steve made, here are my advisers in their current in-progress state. The one on the left is going to be my Officer of the Fleet, and the one on the right will be a Master of Ordnance.
The Fleet Officer is the FW Wiessman model ( a great model, but weird hair), and the M/Ord is a model I initially put together to be the operator for a 'centaur' remote control tank. With a peak cap and some details he'll be fine, I think.
That is all.
Drax.
which peaked cap will you use? a little tip... I loved the tank commander one, but didnt want to use it over and over so I cut the cap off and cut the top of the head off the serg head, and put them together so Voi-La I have a new sergeant head! you'll see mine in my vets soon
ReplyDeleteVery cool Drax! I really like the storage tank terrain - neat looking terrain adds so much to the games, I find.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree about ol' Weisseman's hairdo, it's a bit odd. Otherwise a very cool model. I wish I hadn't let mine get away...
Keep up the great work!
You did that when you were 14? Great stuff mate - and entirely usuable in the present day as well. I'm impressed that you managed to find room to keep it over the years :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd done that when I was 14! Sadly, it was my artistic friend Steve.
ReplyDeleteI think I might change the right arm on my M/Ord model. And I suspect his uniform will be repainted tan in line with my other officers, though I enjoy the piping...
So who's the guy busting out of the storage tank? Is he some poor guardsman thrown in the tank, now mutated by the nuclear sludge inside into a mutated-superman ready to wreak vengeance on his would-be killers?
ReplyDeleteHey, that's a nice piece of terrain. Right now I just finished the first part of my gaming table and soon I'll have to get working on stuff like that too.
ReplyDeleteAdvisors are looking sharp, must be a nice break from painting green, that Fleet Officer hm? I'm sure it will be for me, once I chew through last 9 guardsmen...
I really like the advisers, the navel dude looks really good, and I hope you don't mind if I steal the idea.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I hadn't noticed the arm coming outa the tank at first. It reminds of some old arse 80's film Toxic something guys gets stuff spilled on him and turns into some kinda super hero...
