Hullo,
Okay, I don't like to blow my own trumpet, but I'm pretty proud of this one!
Behold: my new objective marker - complete with some small-scale freehand detail I've not tried before (on the screen), a homemade tiled(!) floor, and a wounded guardsman. As usual, click for details:
Exceptional!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Drax, very nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteThis is your best piece to date... I love the character and the new 'realism' in your painting style - it really sells the model. PS: I've got another trip to Plymouth before the end of the month - can be (will we ever) get together?!?
ReplyDeleteThat's an excellent piece, love all the little details and stuff. The floor tiles in particular, really make all the different elements come together!
ReplyDeleteDear Drax
ReplyDeleteBlow your trumpet with confidence.
That is a well planned display.
John
That's superb work got lots of character to it. :)
ReplyDeleteWoah Drax, that's great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone!
ReplyDeleteOnce I actually got going with this one I really enjoyed making it.
@suneokun: I like the more 'realistic'(!) look, but as an image for the whole army it's unlikely, partially because a lot of it's already done and (un)dusted, and partially because I'm lazy and pushed for time!
Thanks again...nice comments give me a warm, fuzzy feeling!

Absolutely top notch work, Drax! That screen turned out awesome, and the overall composition of the marker is beautiful. Fantastic stuff!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, very nice work.
ReplyDelete...and the student now becomes the master.
ReplyDeleteIncredible work, expect me to be interrogating you for that amazing tiling effect when we meet up!
He's calling for an evac isn't he? lol, Very cool!

Fantastic stuff Drax! I especially love the pose of the model and as others have said - just how fantastic your painting has become, very real indeed my friend. Let the Kitchen Wars begin!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! I love the detail.
ReplyDeleteI really need to start making things like this
ReplyDeleteThanks even more!
ReplyDeleteMike: prepare to be taught a lesson this weekend, mon brave!
Gothmog: I urge you to do so - It's so much more fun than churning out that 178th identikit guardsman!
That's an excellent objective marker. Really great.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best objective marker i have EVER seen... Good job mate!
ReplyDeleteAs already said by so many people, the realism on it is crazy!
This is great! I've been wanting to get some scanners from FW to use as objective markers partly because I thought they would work well and partly because I hadn't seen it done before!
ReplyDeleteWell, you've done it and it does look great! You are fast becoming my favourite blogger!
