220 Leman Russ Vanquisher/Demolisher Conversion

Well...

...not much of a conversion, but here are the pics. Explanation (and exciting news!) follows:
Having made an extention for the barrel of a Leman Russ MBT for use as a vanquisher (with a bit of ballpoint pen tube) and then realised I never intend to actually field a vanquisher, I realised that I still had some old demolisher bits knocking around...so I made one of those up too. Finally got around to finishing both of them last night. The painting's lacklustre because it's another bloomin' e-bay rescue story.

The only problem is that I don't have a name for it! Nor did I ever get around to actually naming the fifth of my Leman Russes (here)...this being the sixth and 'final' one.

To that end, Drax may be posing his first ever competition soon: for the best names (singles or as a pair) ...in keeping with my others, of course! Watch this space, and start thinking of your ideas...!

  1. It's a shame you don't intend on using that Vanquisher turret; it looks nice.

  2. Romulus and Remus. Sort of wolfie, an obvious pair, vaguely in keeping with the "Imperial" theme.

My first, but I think not my final answer.

  3. I've had some experience in naming treaded monstrosities. Maybe I'll play!

  4. Thanks, Chaps!

@Darksol: It looks better in real life, I think. Were I to play a game of Apocalpse, then I'd probably take it along...

@Zzzzzz & Geek: Cheers! I look forward to further thoughts from both of you!

  5. Isn't a french flag on the turret side ?! Hahaha, we used to made the best armour (even we lost 2nd GM)and spread this savoir-faire amongst the galaxy!

    Catharsis, Tempestus Rex or Delagarde.

  6. Merci, Ulu,

Mais malheureusement, ce n'est pas le drapeau tricolore!

No, mon ami, it's taken from the 'fin flash' of RAF aeroplanes, par exemple:

So the red is first, rather than the blue. I'm often asked about this, but alas it comes not from the French but from my many happy memories of making model aeroplanes as a boy!

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, too.
