181 Sweet Objective Marker

Hullo,

Okay, I don't like to blow my own trumpet, but I'm pretty proud of this one!

Behold: my new objective marker - complete with some small-scale freehand detail I've not tried before (on the screen), a homemade tiled(!) floor, and a wounded guardsman. As usual, click for details:
I finished more goodies too...to be revealed next weekend!

Thanks for your indulgence,

- Drax.

  2. This is your best piece to date... I love the character and the new 'realism' in your painting style - it really sells the model. PS: I've got another trip to Plymouth before the end of the month - can be (will we ever) get together?!?

  3. That's an excellent piece, love all the little details and stuff. The floor tiles in particular, really make all the different elements come together!

  6. Thanks, everyone!

Once I actually got going with this one I really enjoyed making it.

@suneokun: I like the more 'realistic'(!) look, but as an image for the whole army it's unlikely, partially because a lot of it's already done and (un)dusted, and partially because I'm lazy and pushed for time!

Thanks again...nice comments give me a warm, fuzzy feeling!

  12. Thanks even more!

Mike: prepare to be taught a lesson this weekend, mon brave!

Gothmog: I urge you to do so - It's so much more fun than churning out that 178th identikit guardsman!

  15. This is great! I've been wanting to get some scanners from FW to use as objective markers partly because I thought they would work well and partly because I hadn't seen it done before!

Well, you've done it and it does look great! You are fast becoming my favourite blogger!
