612 - Bolt Action Jeep Conversion

Alright?
Here's something else I've finally got around to: buying a cheap toy jeep and converting it for tabletop use. Having picked up seven bashed-up old toy jeeps for £3.50 from ebay, I went to work. Some Debris of War stowage, a scrounged steering wheel and a handmade covered windscreen later, this is my new jeep:
Vrooom!

  1. Mighty fine kitbash and conversion, scale wise do they fit too? If so win win.

    1. Thank you!

Scale-wise, it seems fine: scales well with my Toms and other vehicles, but I've no WG model to compare.

On the one hand, I've noticed that keeps often 'seem' out of scale just because they're surprisingly small in real life. On the other hand, I do know that lots and lots of folks use these models to convert to save money!

If I can, I'll try to get a side-by-side photo with a WG jeep this weekend.

  3. Looks sweet! As with Siph, I am curious to know how it scales with the Warlord kit.

    1. Thanks, Neverness!

See above, re. scale. I'll try to get a photo to scale soon...

  4. Oh yes - obviously the wheels are wrong. I know. I'm fine with it.

For 50p plus stowage, I'm fine with that.

  5. 50p plus stowage is the best price I've seen next to "freetoagoodhome".

Nice work mate. Planning to add a driver at all?

Have tried to use my own Soviet Jeep (The "Gaz-67") but found it extremely hard to justify including in my lists. Probably the way I've tried to use it of late.

    1. Cheers!

Nominally, it's supposed to be the ride for my flamethrower team - not for the sake of gameplay, but because that seems to be what they used in the Armoured Divisions, often with the pioneer troops. It's also a potential ride for any other team though. We'll see. Much like the flamethrower unit itself, it's there more for the sake of completeness...

...and maybe a tiny bit because I fancied the challenge!

  6. Well, my pal forgot his, so I couldn't take a comparison pic, but he says mine appears to be fractionally bigger. Fractionally. I'm fine with that!
